From the beginning, we knew we wanted to build a brand that felt personal, playful, and thoughtful. One that brings colour into everyday life, while staying kind to the planet.
We’re Paz and Marcel, a creative duo based in Barcelona. We founded Tarta Gelatina after, like many others, spending a lot of time at home during the pandemic. That experience made us realise our home felt a bit too grey.
One day, one of us brought a sewing machine home, and just like that, we started making things to brighten it up. Our first quilt was stitched together on a 30°C summer afternoon. It was hot, chaotic, and full of joy. That moment sparked what Tarta Gelatina would become: a place to create feel-good objects that make everyday life a little more fun and comforting.
Today, we’re still a small team (with big ideas), involved in every step of the process, from the first spark of an idea to the final product. We love what we do, and we’re always excited to grow, especially when it means collaborating with creative people who share our values.
And of course, our two cats, Curry and Kimchi, are a very important part of the journey.
Our Impact
From the beginning we had a desire to create pieces that last, made with care for people and the planet. We design and produce in small batches, using organic and recycled fibres and working closely with skilled artisans in Spain, India, Portugal, and Lithuania.
