Once you receive your rug, it might be slightly compressed from being rolled up. Simply unroll it and let it sit for a while, and it will return to its original state.
Hand-tufted wool rugs
- Never put your rug in the washing machine.
- Regular vacuuming is essential to maintaining the condition of the rug and eliminating shed fibers. Over-vacuuming could damage the wool fibers, so be sure to use a gentle suction setting and avoid vacuuming the fringes.
- Wet spills should be addressed as soon as possible to prevent them from setting into the fibers. Blot the area gently with a clean, dry cloth or sponge, then follow up with the spot-cleaning instructions below
- To spot-clean a stain, gently blot the affected area with a clean, damp cloth or sponge and a small amount of mild detergent or a water/vinegar mixture. Be sure to test the detergent on a small, inconspicuous area of the rug first to ensure that it doesn't cause any discoloration or damage. Avoid rubbing or brushing the area, as this can damage the wool fibers. Once the stain has been removed, blot the area with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap residue, and then allow it to air dry completely before using the rug again.
- Rotating the rug every few months will help distribute the wear and tear more evenly and prevent certain areas from becoming worn or faded.
- Direct sunlight can cause the colors in the rug to fade over time.
- If your rug needs more than just spot-cleaning, it's best to consult with a professional rug cleaner who has experience working with hand-tufted wool rugs.

Shaggy Rugs (Musgo rug)
Proper care is key to maintaining the beauty and longevity of your Musgo rug. Follow these tips to keep it looking its best:
- Vacuuming: Use a vacuum with a low-power setting and a flat nozzle attachment. Avoid vacuums with beater bars or rotating brushes. Vacuum frequently, at least once a week, and occasionally on the backside to remove dust and dirt.
- Shedding: You can expect some shedding of loose fibers initially. This is normal in high-quality wool rugs and will lessen over time. The higher and thicker the pile, the more abundant the shedding may be at first. Regular vacuuming will help manage this.
- Loose Threads: Never pull loose threads or yarn. Instead, trim them carefully with scissors.
- Spills and Stains: Blot stains promptly with a clean, undyed cloth—don’t rub. For tougher stains, seek help from a professional rug cleaner.
- Harsh Chemicals: Avoid using harsh chemicals, as they can discolor the rug.
Hand-embroidered Cushions
Spot clean only. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry.
Towels
Machine wash at 30-40°C (86-104°F) and tumble dry or air-dry. If you spot a loose loop in your towel, just cut it with a pair of scissors instead of pulling on it.
Bathmats
- Machine wash with similar colors on cold/delicate cycle and a gentle detergent. Tumble dry is recommended to restore their fluffiness and to remove lint fibers.
- No tumble machine? Shake the bathmat before hanging it to dry and after removing it from the drying rack.
- Loose fluff may appear during the first washes. To avoid lint transfer, wash bathmats separately — only one at a time in the washing machine.
- If you notice a loose thread, trim it rather than pulling it. For any loops, cut and then tie them off to secure.
- Non-slip treatment decreases with washing, but the bathmat will remain safe to use.
Placemats
Machine wash with similar colors, in cold water and a gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry. Spot clean as needed. If necessary, iron at a low temperature.
If your placemats shrink a little bit after the first wash, no worries! We've made them slightly bigger to account for this possibility. Just gently stretch them to regain length, and ironing will refresh their look.

Pyjamas
Wash your sleepwear at 30°C (86°F) with similar colors to help preserve the fabric and avoid color transfer. Always turn it inside out before washing and ironing to protect the surface. Socks
To keep your socks in great shape, machine wash them in cold or warm water (up to 40°C/104°F). Avoid bleach, which can break down the fibers over time. Line drying is best to preserve their fit and softness.
Beach Towels
Machine wash your beach towel in cold water with similar colors to keep it vibrant. Tumble dry on low heat, and skip the bleach to help preserve the fabric and color over time.
T-Shirts
Machine wash inside out in cold water with a mild detergent. Air drying is best, but if you use a dryer, choose low heat. If ironing, do so inside out on low heat, avoiding the print.
